ACQSC Audit Expectations: Providers Given One Hour to Produce Evidence
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) has clarified expectations around provider responsiveness during registration audits. According to the Commission’s Renewal of Registration Audit Guide, providers may be expected to supply requested information or evidence within one hour during an on-site audit process.
This reinforces the importance of maintaining well-organised, accessible compliance systems and ensuring key documents, records, and evidence can be retrieved quickly when auditors request them.
For providers, preparation is no longer just about having the right policies and procedures in place — it is also about demonstrating operational readiness and the ability to provide evidence efficiently in real time.
Strong governance systems, document control processes, and staff preparedness will be critical to successfully navigating the new audit environment under the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
